Elie Saab S/S 2013

The Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2013 closed down Paris fashion week on October 3rd. The usual wow-worthy collection which is sure to dominate the red carpet during Awards Season at the beginning of next year. The collection featured prints - both graphic and colored - as well as sheer transparencies and cutouts.

With a color palette of a beautiful cobalt blue, red, beige and black which in turn exploded into fluorescent color prints on gowns, some full length, others above the knee, that fluttered by in silk muslin.

Saint Laurent S/S 2013

After much anticipation and an uproar over the controversial name change, Hedi Slimane finally unveiled his first women's collection for Saint Laurent Paris (formerly known as Yves Saint Laurent) on Monday. While many may have been expecting a modern collection of precision tailoring, they were instead treated to bohemian chick of the early 70's at the Chateau Marmont.
The collection featured large floppy hats with sheer, long, and flowy dresses, kaftans and chiffon cloaks. With a Palette of colors from black to nude, Slimane also brought back old time favorites like Le Smoking jacket, shirts with pussy bows, and elaborate fringes.

Anthony Vaccarello S/S 2013

Paris Fashion Week officially kicked off yesterday with up-and-coming designer ( and what everybody's been referring to as "The Next Generation") Anthony Vaccarello – showing his latest Spring/Summer 2013 collection. With a palette of black and white, liquid-like lamé and metallic animal prints. Miniskirts and one-shoulder dresses were draped and gathered in body-hugging layers around the hips and thighs, while asymmetrical cropped tops with sparkling Swarovski-encrusted zipper details showed off the mid-drift. There were plenty of Vaccarello's signature skin-revealing elements on display — thigh-high slits, cutouts, whisper-thin straps. The collection also included cargo pockets, zips, epaulets, oversize grommets on boxy blouses, slouchy trousers, and double-breasted blazers.

Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2013

Dolce & Gabbana wowed Milan fashion week with their Sicilian-inspired collection starring intricate wicker bustiers, baroque-sculpture shoes and colourful beach prints.
The collection featured short sun dresses in blue and white stripes that recalled the pattern of a beach umbrella. Then came the more elaborate printed dresses, inspired by the gaily colored decorations of a wooden Sicilian cart. These were accessorized by hoop earrings reminiscent of the wheel of the cart as was the painting on the wedged sandals.

The last dress featured a basket-shaped skirt, inspired by those used traditionally to carry fruit, topped with a sheer black layer. This basket effect was also used on corsets – sometimes worn with trademark black lace. A grand finale saw a pack of models – a signature Dolce trick – in swimwear descend on to the catwalk to applause.
